I have serious reservations about Rivers being the next head coach, but then I wonder if it's worth a shot. The problem is, I don't know who else they have on the candidate list. Lord knows Russell Wilson would be the biggest disaster since Chernobyl, and surely that's not a serious consideration. There are coaches out there and sometimes they appear out of nowhere who are successful, but they can be hard to find. To me, the coordinator route is the safest way to go. Part of the reason is that they know what it takes to run a program, and they understand recruiting. I usually have a list of people that I would like to see when we have a coaching change, but for some reason I really don't this time. I'm sure we will find out before too long.
