2024 Week 2 Predictions - NC State vs Tennessee

If you're lucky enough to not be on Twitter this week, good for you, your sanity will thank you. At this point, I want NC State to win this game just to check all these Tennessee fans. They've always had this reputation, so I'm not sure why I'm surprised. After what happened in the past with Greg Schiano and other instances, it all tracks. This week has been exhausting.


I just want to get this game going and be done with it. We as fans should go in with the mindset of wanting a gauge for where NC State stacks up against other potential CFP caliber teams, then put it behind us and focus on the ACC schedule. That's it.


And with that, let's get to the picks! We already did our preseason predictions, but we'll be making picks week to week as the season flows along. Then we'll do a fun compare and contrast when it's all said and done, like after NC State wins the ACC...

State is still working through some kinks on both sides of the ball. They'll be competitive, but Tennessee's talent advantage will be too much. This game will lay the groundwork for a strong performance at Clempsun in two weeks.

This game is a 'nice to have', but not a 'must have.' The 'must have' games start in a couple of weeks. What this is, is a 'hard game.' Exactly what we need to feel a since of urgency that clearly wasn't on display last week. We have to accellerate our early season progress, and this should help. I think we should all feel pretty good if Essad's prediction comes true - I think he's probably right. I think keeping it within double digits would be huge.

Well said. Don't think there is much of a path for State to the playoff without winning the league (unless it somehow went 12-1), so in that sense this is a great test that isn't do or die, and that's awesome.
