Week 6 Predictions - NC State vs Marshall

The MJ Morris era begins in earnest this week as NC State faces its last non-conference opponent of the season in Marshall. The Thundering Herd defense is no cupcake, here's hoping expectations will be tempered as Morris gets his feet set. We expect a Wolfpack win, but it is okay if things take a minute to get going. The goal for this game is not just a win, but for Morris and the rest of the offense to gain momentum and confidence before having to face a very tough Duke team next week.

Let's see what our panel has to say about their thoughts on how this might play out:

24-13 (W)

Morris makes some really nice plays and a handful of mistakes as State slowly closes this one out in the second half.

Essad Malik

27-20 (W)

Marshall's defense is top 25, so they are not a cupcake. MJ Morris hasn't seen game action in a year, so we shouldn't expect miracles. I still expect him to provide just enough of a spark to allow the Pack to win, though it won't be comfortable.

Trey Lower

27-13 (W)

MJ Morris doesn't fix every problem, but he SHOULD fix some of the pass game. Marshall has won every game by 1 possession except for ECU, so they'll keep it close, but State's defense will eventually wear their offense down
