Another week, another Friday night game. It's not exactly the Dillon Panthers playing under these Friday night lights, but the Wolfpack hope to bounce back after skating past UVA last week. Can you bounce back after a game you won? Maybe maybe not, but the Wolfpack need to do something to improve if they hope to contain the prolific offense of the Cardinals.
Let's see what our panel has to say about their thoughts on how this might play out:
Name | Prediction | Comments |
Alec Lower | 20-35 (L) | Louisville is still kind of a mystery to me. Georgia Tech is the best team it's played. I see an offense that can score and has balance though, and NC State has neither of those things. State can win this game if it can play a complete game on offense, but we haven't seen that yet, and Jeff Brohm creativity against a secondary (particularly at safety) that can get caught with wandering eyes makes me very nervous.
|
Essad Malik | 27-37 (L) | All of a sudden Louisville looks like an impressive offensive team, right at the time where NC State's defense is showing signs of weakness. I expect the offense to do the average with what they've been doing, putting more burden on the defense, which will wear out in the fourth quarter. Stop me if you've heard this one before. |
Trey Lower | 20-34 (L) | I picked Louisville to make it to the ACC Championship Game, and while I think they don't have an ""impressive"" win yet (they only scored 21 points against an Indiana team that should've lost to Akron), their pass game and NC State's slowly depleting secondary poses a major matchup problem. Louisville wont be able to run the ball, and because of that, State's putrid offense struggles to keep up |

As much as I would like to see a win tonight my guess is the defense spends too much time on the field and gives up too many big plays and the offense is sporadic at best. I'll take the home game L, 21-37.
